Job Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will spearhead team(s) in design, development and vertical integration of embedded systems, electronics, and controls, ensuring that hardware, firmware, and control logic are developed as a unified ecosystem and acts as a base layer for the robotics platform.
  • By tightly coupling embedded processors with custom electronics and advanced control algorithms, you will help deliver optimized performance, reduced latency, and enhanced reliability across complex systems.
  • Your work will involve designing and integrating computational systems, sensors, actuators (electrical), and communication interfaces under a cohesive architecture to enable real-time decision-making and adaptive automation.

Essential Skills:

We seek an established leader with an overall professional experience of 12 years or more with below mentioned skills.

Electronics:

  • To be able to direct a team of hardware engineers in key component selection of MCUs, MPUs, ASICs and Power Supplies.
  • To review schematics and complex multilayer PCBs and help team in technical decision making. (incl. SI/PI).
  • Have a clear understanding of Industrial functional safety requirements (IEC 61508, ISO 13849) and work with reliability engineering, perform DFMEAs, FMEDAs on upcoming platforms.
  • A knack for vendor identification and negotiation.
  • Very well organized and to be able work and create stability under ambiguity and tight timelines without compromising quality.
  • Systems Engineering and Systems Integration skills are good to have.
  • Excellent in EMI/EMC issue resolution and compliance testing aspects.
  • Hand-on with lab measurements using Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic and Protocol Analyzers.
  • Experience of moving atleast 3 designs from concept to mass production.

Embedded Software:

  • Very good understanding and hands-on knowledge of x86 and Arm based machines/chipsets.
  • Able to write and review Embedded C and C++ code.
  • Very good understanding of Real-time operating systems and Open-source OS like Linux and RT Kernel.
  • Excellent in understanding communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI etc.,
  • To be able to direct team in critical chip and platform selection and facilitate bring up of the same with code reviews and architectural reviews.
  • Liaison with cross functional stakeholders in platform limitations, contingencies and bug resolution.

Motor Control Systems:

  • Very good understanding of motor controls.
  • Hands-on with design of filters, power stages and feedback controls (P, PI, PID).
  • Very good understanding of Digital Signal Processors, ASICs and Model based development using Simulink or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic principles and motor dynamics, with the ability to optimize performance across BLDC, PMSM motors.
  • Clear understanding of advanced control strategies such as field-oriented control (FOC), sensor-less control, and real-time tuning for high-efficiency motor applications.

  • Bring-up strategic inputs to senior leadership and be comfortable to work with and present ideas to C-level executives.

Qualifications

  • BE/ BTech (or higher) in electrical, electronics & communications engineering or related field.
